Microwave Popcorn Popper

micro-popper.jpg

My family loves popcorn.   Popping a bag of microwave popcorn after school had become routine for our kids.  I worry about the chemicals in microwave popcorn though, so I was giddy to find this little gadget.  It’s a microwave popcorn popper.  You can use it with or without oil.  I use about a tablespoon of grapeseed oil and 1/3 cup popcorn.  The popcorn pops up fluffy and light.  I haven’t been able to give up butter and salt, so I spritz mine with a butter spray and sprinkle in Real Salt.  We love this thing!  I ordered mine through Gooseberry Patch, but they no longer carry them.  Here is a link to the popper on Amazon.com:

  1. I saw an episode of Good Eats where he even uses a paper lunch bag to pop popcorn!!! It was pretty neat (and cheap!)

  2. Intresting!! We have an (ancient) air popper. My kids prefer microwave, when they are home and eat air popped popcorn at Grandpas. I haven’t figured out what I do wrong, because we do it the same! I might have to try one of these. Thanks!
