This is a simple recipe using dehydrated apple slices, a food storage staple, to create delicious boutique-looking gifts. I demonstrated how to make them in my first You Tube video for Alison’s Pantry. Since it uses these great dehydrated apples from food storage, I thought my readers here may enjoy it too. The audio is a little off, and I am clearly not a celebrity, but have patience as I’m learning. Look forward to better video demos as I improve. Anyway, the recipe is a fun one and I think you’ll enjoy how dehydrated apples can look so fancy with a little caramel and white chocolate. Enjoy!

I see a celebrity in the making for sure! Some tips for the next video – I wanted to see at least one close-up at the end… and I also wanted to taste the food. So if you can incorporate those two things, it’ll be great!
I am SOOO going to make some of these and send them to my daughter in college. She’ll love them!
ps. Love your blog!
Could you please email me or post the directions in print? We live in rural America where I have a cap on uploading/downloading, so I can’t watch the video:(
Thanks. Looks yummy.
One of our readers suggested that I explain how these were made on the blog, instead of just on the video (for those who can’t view YouTube videos).
It’s actually VERY simple. You just select the largest, best looking dehydrated apple slices from the can or package. Dip HALF of the slice in warm, melted caramel, then allow to cool. When cool, dip in melted white chocolate and sprinkle with Cinnamon Sugar. Cool completely and package for gift-giving.
